What the client needed
UK telecom resellers and MSPs bill from call records, recurring services and one-off charges, buy from several carriers, and lose margin whenever a supplier invoice and their own CDRs disagree. The client is building the platform that bills, collects and reconciles all of it, and needed a long-term engineering partner to carry the core.
What we build, and keep building
- Rating and bill runs
- Call-detail-record import and rating against tariff plans; a monthly cycle of draft, approve, publish, send and collect, where a published invoice is locked and corrections are credit notes; several invoices per period; invoicing in other currencies.
- Collection
- Card and Direct Debit through Stripe, with part payments, one charge covering several invoices, Bacs pending states, plain-language failure reasons, non-expiring pay links, payment holds, and automatic reconciliation of Stripe payouts, refunds and disputes.
- Receivables and ledger
- Receipts and allocation, credit notes, write-offs, statements, ageing, disputes and approved refunds, with every movement posted to a ledger; a month-end checklist, nightly balance checks and migration of opening balances from the previous system.
- Accounting sync
- Connections to Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage Accounting, plus a daily journal file for Sage 50/200.
- Supplier reconciliation and revenue assurance
- Matching supplier invoices to CDR data to flag discrepancies and recover overcharges; a revenue dashboard across sales, cost, margin and accounts.
- Around it
- Scanned supplier bills captured into the CRM, a PSA integration used by UK MSPs, account management (subscriptions, credit limits, tax profiles, quotes, tickets), and an automated test suite in the thousands of checks that runs on every change.
What it shows
Two and a half years inside one financial system where every pound has to reconcile, across several live customer installations: the engagement that proves we can be trusted with billing and payments.
