If your team knows the system but doesn't have the hours, we can add developers who work in your tools and take on the mapping, scripts and upgrade work while your people keep the decisions.
A migration is a good fit for added capacity when your team knows the business and the system, and the shortfall is hands: mapping fields, writing and rehearsing import scripts, upgrading code, building comparison tests. Your people stay in charge of decisions, and ours carry the volume.
It works less well when nobody on your side has the time to answer questions. Outside developers can read code, but they can't tell you why a status code exists or which of two conflicting records is right. If there is no one to ask, a fixed-scope project with its own discovery phase will serve you better.
The developers join your tools: your repository, your tracker, your stand-ups. Our engineering team is in India with 3–5 hours of overlap with the UK and Europe, which is enough time for a daily conversation and quick answers, with focused work running outside those hours. US calls are by appointment. A cutover night is arranged in advance, since it often falls outside normal hours for us.
One thing we would ask you to plan is access. Migrations touch production data. Decide early who may see what, whether developers work on anonymised copies, and how credentials are issued and withdrawn.
Our longest example wasn't a migration. For about three years, from around 2013 to 2016, we recruited, employed and managed a team of 14 to 15 PHP developers in Kerala, working only on a Dubai technology company's own products. We handled hiring, payroll, workspace, equipment and line management, and the client directed the work. That shows how we run a dedicated team, and the published migration work shows what our developers can do on legacy code.
