WordPress care plans

Keep your WordPress sitesecure, updated, and performing at its best

WordPress maintenance services

These are the jobs the plans do, and the jobs they leave out.

  • Updates that actually happen

Out-of-date plugins are a common way into a WordPress site. Premium applies core, theme and plugin updates every day. Enterprise sets the schedule to suit your site, which helps if you want changes outside your busy periods.

  • Backups away from your server

Premium keeps daily database and offsite backups. Enterprise follows a schedule agreed for your site. A backup stored on the same server disappears with it, so offsite is the part that matters.

  • Malware found and cleaned up

Both plans scan for malware and clean it up if it appears. If your site is compromised while on a plan, we isolate it, remove the malicious code and restore clean files if needed.

  • Someone notices when it goes down

Uptime monitoring tells us when the site stops responding, so you are not the last to find out. Emergency restoration is part of both plans for when an update or an attack takes the site down.

  • Small edits and tidying

A phone number, a page of text, a new banner: about 30 minutes a month on Premium and about 60 on Enterprise. Unused minutes don't roll over. Premium also includes database and image optimisation.

  • What the plans do not cover

New features, redesigns, integrations and SEO work are separate. We quote those as projects, because they have an end and a monthly plan should not hide them. Our WordPress development page has the details.

Our WordPress maintenance process

Getting started takes a few messages, not a project.

  1. Tell us about the site

Send the address, where it is hosted and anything that is already broken. If it needs a repair before a plan makes sense, we will say so.

  2. Pick a plan

Premium suits most sites. Enterprise suits a site where updates and backups need their own schedule, or where you want priority handling. There is no setup fee.

  3. Updates, backups and monitoring start

We get the access we need and set up backups first, so there is a copy to go back to before the first update runs.

  4. Send small edits as they come up

Your monthly allowance covers small changes. If a request is bigger than that, we tell you and quote it. You can cancel at any time.

WordPress maintenance project examples

Most of our work is delivered under NDA, so many projects cannot be named.

Frequently asked questions about WordPress maintenance

Common questions from WordPress site owners, business managers, and marketing teams about WordPress maintenance services and best practices.

Which plan do I need?
Premium suits most sites: daily updates and backups, with a small-edits allowance. Enterprise suits demanding sites, with update and backup schedules set to suit your site, priority handling and a larger edits allowance.
What's included in your WordPress maintenance plans?
Two plans, invoiced in the customer's local currency. Premium (USD 89/month): Core, theme and plugin updates every day; Daily database and offsite backups; Uptime monitoring; Malware scanning and cleanup; Emergency restoration; Database and image optimisation; Up to about 30 minutes per month of small edits. Enterprise (USD 159/month): Update and backup schedules set to suit your site; Uptime monitoring; Malware scanning and cleanup; Emergency restoration; Priority handling; Up to about 60 minutes per month of small edits. No setup fee, no lock-in, cancel anytime. Unused edit minutes don't roll over.
What if an update breaks my site?
We restore it. Emergency restoration is part of both plans, and backups mean there is a recent copy to go back to. We can't promise an update will never cause a problem, so what matters is how quickly it can be undone.
What happens if my WordPress site gets hacked?
If your site is compromised while on a plan, we isolate it, remove malicious code, restore clean files from a recent backup if needed, and add measures to prevent recurrence. Backups run daily on Premium and on your agreed schedule on Enterprise.
