Aimeos Development Services
Aimeos is a commerce library that plugs into a host application, usually Laravel, and TYPO3 or Symfony also appear in its documentation. It comes with an admin interface and front ends, split into separate extension packages. We write extensions for it, rather than changing its own code.
How we work with Aimeos
The documentation is on the 2026.x line. The Laravel package's 2026.10 LTS release supports Laravel 11, 12 and 13, and 2025.10 supports 10, 11 and 12, both on PHP 8.1 or later.
Layers
Endpoints sit on top: the JQAdm admin, a GraphQL admin API, an HTML client and a JSON API client. Below are controllers, which include jobs for imports and emails, then data domains, then adapters that connect to the host application.
Extensions and decorators
Custom work lives in your own extension. Decorators wrap managers, for example to add database columns without subclassing, and they also apply to rules, coupons and services. Those patterns survive an upgrade far better than edits to the packages.
APIs
The JSON API client serves a separate front end, and GraphQL covers administration. The older JsonAdm API is marked as deprecated, so any integration still using it should plan a move, and new ones should avoid it.
Databases and data sources
The 2025.x setup guide lists MySQL 5.7.8+, MariaDB 10.2.2+, PostgreSQL 9.6+ and SQL Server 2019+. Each data domain can use a separate database, or a custom implementation can read from a different source altogether, such as an existing product system.
When Aimeos is the right choice, and when it is not
Aimeos has many features, and reviewers note that it needs PHP and Laravel skill to customise. We look at whether you will use enough of it.
A good fit when
- You have a Laravel application or team, and need more than a basic cart.
- You need vendor, B2B or multi-warehouse features that Aimeos describes as part of its range.
- Your catalogue data already lives elsewhere, and the domain layer can be pointed at it.
A poor fit when
- You want a simple store that non-developers can configure and extend.
- You have no PHP developers to look after it after launch.
- You only need a few products and a checkout. A smaller package or a hosted platform will be easier.

We could not find any e-commerce platform called Aimoes, and the spelling looks like a variant of Aimeos, the PHP commerce library this page describes. If you mean a different product, tell us its website and we will check.
How is Aimeos licensed?
The Laravel package is under the MIT licence, and the wider project's listing also cites LGPLv3. If licensing matters to your business, have someone check the licence for each package you use.
Is Aimeos still maintained?
Yes. The Laravel package was updated in October 2026, with a 2026.10 long-term support release, and the docs are on 2026.x with upgrade notes from earlier years.
